Torun, November 19, 2016
Once again, we welcomed an invitation from the Department of Heritage and Conservation Studies, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, to deliver a workshop dedicated to laser leaning of heritage to professional program students.
This time, the venue was our laboratory. Besides practical training in laser cleaning, we showed the participants other heritage research and testing technologies available at the lab.
Before the workshop, the students were given a presentation on “Illuminating art. Laser in heritage and art conservation” in order to learn the fundamental mechanics of laser action and the range of laser applications in conservation.
The students showed genuine interest in both our laser systems and in other technologies used at the lab, e.g. XRF, stratigraphic analysis or heritage digitization.
